F A Q
Do I need a license to purchase post 1900 firearms ?
Yes, All post 1900 firearms require an appropriate firearms license for the specific firearm being purchased. Please ensure you possess the correct license before making any purchase.
Do I need a license to purchase a pre-1900 firearm ?
It depends what state you live in.
In most states (NSW, QLD, WA, NT, ACT, VIC) no license or registration is required for pre-1900 firearms excluding revolvers and firearms that use a metallic cartridge that is still commercially available ( check your state firearms registry for a discontinued cartridge list). SA and TAS do require pre-1900 firearms to be registered and a firearms license is required. We do not ship pre-1900 firearms to SA or TAS at this time, when this changes our website will be updated.
how much is shipping ?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and are dependent on the item/items you wish to purchase and if insurance is requested. Due to the nature of the items sold at Conflict Firearms bundling of shipping costs if purchasing multiple items (example post-1900 firearms) is not possible due to state and national legislation.
We recommend choosing a shipping option with insurance cover where available.
Do I need a license to purchase an edged weapon ?
Depending on which state you are located in and the size of the edged weapon.
In every state and territory of Australia requires you must be 18+ to purchase any edged weapon.
Additionally in VIC you must be a member of a registered collecting guild/club to own swords or machete’s.

Terms and Conditions
- Conflict Firearms sells a range of items that require different licenses and permits in Australia, it is the customers responsibility to insure they possess the correct license/permit for the item they wish to purchase before purchasing. If a customer is unable to take possession of their purchase due to not possessing the correct license/permit once it arrives at their nominated firearms dealer no returns or refunds will be issued for this reason. Attention! again please ensure you possess the correct license/permit before purchasing any item and check items descriptions for further information in this regard.
- Conflict Firearms deals in historical items some of which being hundreds of years old, nothing listed for sale is manufactured brand new from the factory (excluding our range of apparel). Hence the described condition of an item is subjective, an "excellent condition" flintlock pistol manufactured in the 18th century will not be the same "excellent condition" of a pistol manufactured in 2025. Please read all items descriptions carefully and view all items photographs to gauge their condition before purchasing.
- All sales of edged weapons requires the customer to be 18 years of age or older. All customers purchasing swords or machetes in Victoria require a collecting club membership.
- All sales of post-1900 firearms require a valid firearms license correlating with the firearms category the item falls under, example: (A semi automatic handgun with a barrel length of 120mm or greater and a magazine capacity of ten rounds or less would fall under a CAT H firearms license in NSW, if the barrel length was under 120mm or was a high capacity magazine over ten rounds it would fall under a CAT G firearms collectors license (with a pre46 or post46 handgun condition, dependent on the date of the firearms manufacture) Category information will be listed in the description section. Your valid and correct firearms license and PTA will need to be presented to your nominated firearms dealer upon collection of your purchase. Attention! firearms regulation can vary from state to state, all information provided is based off NSW legislation. Please check your local states firearms legislation before purchase.
- Returns and refunds. As Conflict Firearms deals in antique (used, excluding our line of apparel) items no refunds or returns are possible unless the item purchased is not as pictured or described in its listing.
We strive to be as accurate as possible in our items descriptions and condition reports, when dealing with antiques these are subjective and the difference between good very good to excellent condition can be dependant on the individual item and category of collectables it falls under. A "very good" condition bronze age spear head is descriptively different to a "very good" condition WW2 rifle taking into consideration the age difference and an items scarcity. When viewing items on our website please take into consideration the difference that different devise display screens and resolutions can make to the appearance of different finishes on a particular item. We have a 7 day return policy, if there is an issue with your order please contact us within 7 days of receipt and we will do our best to resolve any issue. All returns shipping costs will be at the customers expense.
- Some items Conflict Firearms have listed for sale have different license requirements dependant on which state you are located in, for example: Deactivated explosive ordnance (inert mines, hand grenades, practice mortars or bombs etc) require a prohibited weapons permit with safe storage conditions applicable in NSW. This is not the case in other states, please check your local state regulations before purchasing any item.
