French Model 1763 cavalry flintlock pistol.
French Revolution era, the .72 caliber, unsighted, smoothbore barrel measures 9 inches with the whole pistol measuring just under 16 inches. The front of the barrel is held in place by a large muzzle ring with retaining spring.
The barrel is also marked with an inspection mark of 'S' and 'M1763' is engraved on the barrel tang.
The flat lock plate and cock are devoid of any markings. The action is in good working order. The wooden grip has inspection marks of "S" on both sides, ram rod appears to be original. All iron furniture is present and in good condition, appears to be a small repair to wood work . For a pistol that was made between 1763 and 1766 around 260 years ago it is in good condition and was most likely in French military service during the French Revolution of 1789. Priced accordingly to the pistols condition.

This is a pre-1900 antique firearm, no license or registration is required in NSW
